Author Don Quant brings us the history of the cut glass industry and introduces us to Edward J. Koch, who operated a cut glass factory here in Elgin. Examples of Koch cut glass will be featured!

Edward J. Koch started making cut glass in Chicago in 1899 but moved his factory to Elgin in 1911. Author Don Quant explores the history of cut glass with a special focus on Koch glass: how it was made, where it was sold, and the personal and professional lives of the people who operated the Elgin factory. This program will feature examples of Koch cut glass and Quant's book on cut glass will be available for sale.
