Enjoy an afternoon of Latin American Music performed on 2 pianos by award-winning pianists the Liang-He Duo. Please Register

Latin American music is a diverse genre that blends elements from folk and indigenous traditions, African rhythms, and Western European music. This concert, will feature both four-hand and two-piano works, either composed in Latin America or inspired by its distinctive musical characteristics.

Listen to music from Carlos Gardel’s most famous tangos, followed by Carlos Guastavino’s Tres Romances Argentinos which melds Caribbean influences with Western Romanticism. Also, included will be William Bolcom’s Recuerdo, a set of three dances evoking the spirit of Latin American dance styles from the WWII era, and selections from Leonard Bernstein’s West Side Story.

The Liang-He Duo is committed to developing a unique repertoire based on exploring the classics of two-piano literature, as well as creating new works through commissions. Their innovative programs combine traditional and less-frequently performed works.
