The Thanksgiving holiday is more fun when you share books and activities with your family!  (Note:  This is NOT a Zoom meeting event.) We've prepared a Book Party Plan (click link) suggesting some fun holiday books to share along with related activities and crafts to do as you celebrate this Thanksgiving weekend. 

Due to the closure of the building, all kits for this program are now available for pick-up at the Main Library Drive-Up Window. If you have any questions, please call the youth desk at 847-429-4685. Pick up your kit at the Main Library Drive-Up Window between November 16 and November 25. This kit will include some of the materials for the suggested craft projects. You will need to secure the ingredients for the snack ideas and basic crafting items listed below.  Best for families with children in K-5th grade. 

Program supplies in kit:

2 standard paper plates (plain, no décor)

1 brad/paper fastener

Turkey puppet template (printed on cardstock)

Instruction sheets

Program supplies to gather at home:

Scissors

Crayons/Markers/Colored Pencils

Glue (optional)

Construction paper (optional)

Program Supplies for SNACK ideas to gather at home:

Hershey’s Kisses

Baking Chips (any flavor will work)

Chocolate Frosting (cookie decorating pouches work well- 1 for each snack recipe)

Mini Vanilla Wafer Cookies or Mini Nutter Butter Cookies (peanut butter)

Brownie bites

Candy Corn

Candy Googly eyes
