Elgin RoomJoin women of all backgrounds for movement, journaling, conversation, and storytelling inspired by Women Who Carry Water. No experience needed come ready to connect, reflect, and share.
Join Ballet Five Eight for a meaningful gathering of women across generations, cultures, backgrounds, and lived experiences. Inspired by Women Who Carry Water, a new ballet by choreographer Julianna Rubio Slager exploring the often-unseen labor women carry, this two-hour experience invites participants into gentle somatic movement, guided journaling, conversation, and shared storytelling. Our goal is to bring together a truly diverse group of women—from different ages, cultures, professions, family structures, and life experiences—to listen across perceived boundaries and discover the stories that connect us. No dance or writing experience is necessary; simply come ready to move, reflect, listen, and share as we celebrate the women who make our community what it is.
