Kids Explore: Pixel Art

Grades K-5, Registration Required

Did you know that the popular game, Minecraft, is made from Pixel Art? Let’s explore this digital art form and make some paper pixel art of our own. Registration required.

Registration for this program begins December 15, 2025. Please register each child SEPARATELY.

Please note that this program will be held in the Youth Story Room- not Sally Lee Fox.  

Just like Minecraft and other old video games used pixel art to make digital pictures, we can use this building block, the pixel, to create our own physical art (on paper). We’ll talk about pixel art and color/create some mystery pictures of our own. Registration required.

If you register but later are unable to attend the event, please call 847-429-4685 to cancel as soon as possible. This allows a student on the wait list to join the event with adequate notice. We will be taking attendance at the programs, and staff members reserve the right to move a registrant to the wait list if they are found to be consistently absent from programs.
