AI Unplugged: Behind the Digital Curtain Artificial Intelligence is no longer a far-off science fiction concept — it’s here, shaping our world in ways both obvious and hidden.

We’ll explore: What AI Is & How It Works – Breaking down the key components in plain language. A Brief AI Timeline – From the earliest ideas to today’s breakthroughs. AI in Everyday Life – Surprising ways AI is already affecting how we shop, drive, communicate, learn, and even stay healthy. The Future of AI – What’s on the horizon and what it could mean for work, creativity, and daily living. Practical Uses Now – Tools and applications you can use today. AI-Generated Images – A peek at the creative side of machine intelligence.

The highlight of the program is a live, interactive session where the audience engages directly with AI voice technology. Past audiences have laughed and marveled as AI composed a Dr. Seuss-style poem about Chicago weather, explained quantum physics in the whimsical style of Lewis Carroll, recited The Raven in Gaelic, and more.

Ed Sehr, owner of Sehr Consulting, has over 40 years of IT experience, including 20+ years as IT Director for a 600-person, 30-location engineering firm. He specializes in making complex technology understandable for all audiences, presenting on AI, cybersecurity, and emerging tech to libraries, community groups, and businesses.
