Our Heroes, Our Stories Exhibit

Ven y conoce los Avatares de los Héroes comunitarios. Patrocinado por la Fundación del Caucus Latino Legislativo de Illinois.

17 legisladores estatales latinos identificaron a héroes comunitarios anónimos en sus distritos. Muchos de esos avatares estarán exhibidos en la biblioteca del 12 de septiembre al 15 de octubre. Como parte de esta exhibición, se realizará un taller en el que podrás diseñar y comenzar a crear el avatar de tu propio viaje del héroe.

Our Heroes, Our Stories Exhibit

Come and meet the Community Heroes Avatars.  In a project sponsored by the Illinois Legislative Latino Caucus Foundation, 17 Latinx state legislators identified unsung community heroes in their districts. After participating in a workshop to discuss the “hero’s journey” and how it applied to them, each hero created an avatar to represent their strengths, their journey, and obstacles they had overcome. 

Many of those avatars will be exhibited in the library from September 12th through October 15th. As part of this exhibit, there will be a workshop at which you can design and begin creating your personal hero's journey avatar.
