What's up with the big painted heads displayed at the Main Library? Join Ms. Carrie to learn about the Olmecs and their art and design your own 2D Olmec head. Registration required.

**REGISTRATION FOR THIS EVENT OPENS ON 10/15/2024.**

NOTE: This program will run for 60 minutes (2-3 p.m.) to allow for a quick tour to see some of the Olmec heads around the building.

If you've visited the library recently, you've probably noticed the large, painted stone heads displayed around the building.  This art display is based on the colossal heads created by the Olmec people from the Gulf Coast of Mexico between 1600 BCE to around 350 BCE.  Join Ms. Carrie to learn about the Olmec people and their art, take a quick walk to see some of the display, and create your own 2D Olmec head that tells a story. The program will run for 1 hour (instead of the normal 45 minutes) to allow time for the tour.
