December is filled with holidays and they are all more fun when you share books and activities with your family!  (Note:  This is NOT a Zoom meeting event.) We've prepared a Book Party Plan suggesting some fun holiday books to share along with related activities and crafts that you can do together to learn about and celebrate Hanukkah, Las Posadas, Christmas and Kwanzaa over your winter break from school. You'll make 1 craft for each of the four holidays, make a foldable mini-book with "Quick Facts" about the holidays to read, and play 3 games.  Suggestions are provided for yummy thematic snacks as well.

This program has supplies to be picked up at the KidSpace Youth Reference Desk at the Main Library (270 N. Grove Ave, Elgin). Program supplies will be ready for pick up between Monday, December 13th through Thursday, December 23rd.  The kit will include some of the materials for the suggested craft projects.  You will need to secure the ingredients for the snack ideas as well as some basic crafting items listed below.  Best for families with children in K-5th grade.

If you would like to pick up the supplies at the Main Library Drive Up Window instead of inside the library at the youth desk, please call the youth desk at 847-429-4685 before arriving at the library.
