Debby Irving, author of Waking Up White talks about her experiences which led her to become an ally in the fight for equity, diversity, and inclusion. Joyce Fountain, moderator.

Debby Irving’s memoir Waking Up White: And Finding Myself In The Story Of Race (2014) describes her journey from her comfortable middle-class childhood where race wasn’t spoken of, to her awareness in adulthood of the effects white privilege has had on American society. Irving will talk about her experiences which led to her becoming one of the most well-known allies in the fight for equity, diversity, and inclusion. Joyce Fountain will moderate the discussion that follows.
